Who's behind the bench
Sofia is a young maker in London who'd rather open a gadget than read the manual. Everything gets built, tested or taken apart on camera — and when it goes wrong, that stays in.
The workshop side comes from her dad: twenty years of automotive electrical work, radio hardware and home-lab networking. The projects are real ones, not props.
What gets made
Assistants that run on real hardware
Voice assistants, small language models and vision projects running on single-board computers rather than in the cloud. The interesting part is never the demo — it's the wiring, the power budget and the twenty things that had to be fixed before it answered once.
What the air is actually carrying
Antennas, handheld receivers and mesh radios — where signals come from, why some carry further than others, and what a spectrum display is really showing you. Receive-only, inside UK licensing rules, and the rules get explained rather than skipped.
Open it and find out
Gadgets taken apart to see what's inside the case: which chips do the work, where the corners were cut, and whether it can be repaired or was only ever meant to be replaced. Reassembly included, successful or not.
